The Graduate School of Social Sciences, founded in 1982, is a post graduate institution which aims to improve itself constantly, provides post graduate education and research at master (second cycle) and PhD level (third cycle). The Graduate School having trained numerous scholars and academics since its foundation, currently offers post graduate education to 5348 students in 30 departments with 52 thesis master programmes, 32 non-thesis master programmes and 23 doctorate (PhD) programmes. Our Graduate School continues to its teaching and research activities with 27 full time academic and administrative staff.
In addition, we also publish Journal of Graduate School of Social Sciences which is a blind peer-reviewed academic journal being abstracted and indexed by national (ULAKBIM and ASOS) and international databases (EBSCO, DOAJ, ULRICH). The Graduate School of Social Sciences has taken important steps for widening the international network so that the graduate and doctoral students as well as academics benefit more from the Erasmus exchange program and several other academic partnership agreements. The Graduate School of Social Sciences has been conducting a Jean Monnet Module which is supported by the European Commission and coordinated by the Department of European Union Studies since 2005-2006 academic year. Furthermore, the Department of EU Studies at the Graduate School has also been awarded with a Jean Monnet Chair in European Economic Integration.
